The 11th Annual Cycle to Serve Challenge will take place in Lenoir, NC on Saturday, May 24th. Participate in either the 100k (62.25miles), 40 mile, or 25 mile rides providing an organized scenic ride though the foothills of rural Caldwell County.
This classic mountain metric centruy finishes on top of Beech Mountain, a true test to even the strongest rider. On Saturday, May 19th 2018, this ride is sure to be a success! Will you succeed in climbing over 8000 feet?
Finally, an opportunity for kids to shine! On Saturday, May26th, bring the swimsuit, the bike, and the running shoes and join in at the Watauga County Swim Complex. Multiple age categories with varying distances: 8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15!
Celebrating the 43rd Anniversary, the Assult on Mount Mitchell is a classic that shouldn't be missed! This 102.7 mile ride provides an opportunity to 10 rest stops along the course for you to refill, refuel, and make mechanical adjustments as you tackle the 10,357 feet of climbing it'll take you to reach the top. This event takes place on MONDAY, May 14th, 2018.
A demanding route, which showcases the mountain communities of Watauga County, North Carolina, requires over 9,000 feet of total climbing. Highlights of the route include a 21-mile section of the Blue Ridge Parkway, a strenuous climb over the 4,500-foot gap at Snake Mountain, and a 10-mile "flat" on old US 421. This year marks the 20th Annual, on Saturday, June 23rd 2018. Online Registration fills up quick so don't miss out!
This isn't your typical cycling event. A Gran Fondo is a unique cycling challenge- both a personal challenge and a serious competition. Timing chips allow riders to compete for fasteset time during designated sections of the course, then they enjoy the scenery during the rest of the event. Why not give the Boone race a try on Sunday, August 12th! You might get hooked and compete in the entire Gran Fondo Series!
Choose your poison on Saturday, August 11th and participate in either the 55, 72, or 102 mile option. This fully supported ride rolls through the lesser known beautiful Blue Ridge mountains in Ashe County.
The 14th annual event will take place at 8:00am on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church (directions) and a local family farm perched on the banks of the lake in a scenic, pastoral setting. This will be a low-key festive event with overall and age group awards, and a post-race barbecue.
This 3rd Annual Ladies ONLY event on Saturday, August 25th is geared towards expanding the community of female cyclists! With 4 route options available: 15, 20, 35, or 65 miles this ride is perfect for all ability levels and ages!
